Responsibilities
- Assess patients using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) to prioritize care based on acuity
- Accurately document patient histories and vital signs in Epic EMR system
- Collaborate with physicians to develop rapid treatment plans for high-acuity cases
- Provide clear communication to patients and families during stressful situations
- Maintain compliance with TJC and HIPAA regulations
- Oversee triage team during peak volume periods
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active CA RN license with minimum 2 years ED experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Expertise in ESI triage methodology
- Proficient in Epic EMR and telehealth triage platforms
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- BSN degree or higher preferred
- Experience with pediatric and geriatric populations
