Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments via phone and in-person to determine medical urgency
- Provide expert medical guidance to patients and families during critical decision-making
- Coordinate care pathways with emergency physicians and specialty teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EHR systems while meeting compliance standards
- Manage high-volume call centers during peak hours with exceptional efficiency
- Educate patients on home care protocols and when to seek follow-up treatment
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage protocols
Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license with unrestricted status
- Minimum 3 years ER/urgent care experience with triage specialization
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Expertise in telephone triage protocols and emergency assessment tools
- Proficiency with Epic EHR and telehealth platforms
- Strong decision-making abilities under pressure
- BSN preferred; ADN required with 5+ years experience
