Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocol
- Triage patients based on acuity levels and clinical judgment
- Coordinate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for rapid patient disposition
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Provide clear communication to patients and families during high-stress situations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental committees
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Louisiana (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and de-escalation abilities
- Experience with ESI triage protocols preferred
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments
