Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical history via phone triage to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to develop patient care plans and coordinate interventions
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation while adhering to HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear, empathetic patient education on home care instructions and follow-up protocols
- Manage high-volume call queues during peak hours while maintaining quality standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage protocols
- Respond to medical emergencies per established emergency response procedures
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Minnesota with minimum 3 years clinical experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications with current credentials
- Proven expertise in telephone triage and emergency assessment protocols
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems and medical documentation software
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex medical information
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
