Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough initial patient assessments to determine the severity of illness or injury.
- Utilize evidence-based protocols to prioritize patient care and determine appropriate discharge or admission.
- Document clinical findings, patient history, and triage notes accurately and promptly in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referring physicians to facilitate seamless continuity of care.
- Provide patient education regarding home care, medications, and preventative health measures.
- Collaborate with the nursing and medical staff to optimize workflow and patient throughput.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Mexico.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with specific triage or emergency department experience preferred.
- Certification as a Triage Nurse (e.g., CTRN) is a plus.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
