Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patient symptoms via telephone or secure digital channels to determine the appropriate level of care.
- Route patients to the correct medical facility (ER, Urgent Care, Primary Care) based on clinical findings.
- Document all patient interactions, medical histories, and care instructions accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Provide detailed health education and medication instructions to patients and caregivers.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to resolve patient concerns and ensure continuity of care.
- Manage high call volumes while maintaining a professional, empathetic, and calm demeanor.
- Identify and escalate critical medical emergencies immediately.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a triage, call center, or telehealth setting.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Proficiency in computer systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical concepts clearly.
- Ability to think critically and make sound medical decisions under time constraints.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on patient satisfaction.
