Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and in-person patient assessments to determine urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize cases according to established triage protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care teams to coordinate patient care
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems with attention to regulatory compliance
- Provide clear, empathetic patient education on treatment plans and next steps
- Monitor and track patient outcomes through follow-up communication
- Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all interactions
Qualifications
- Current Alaska RN license with unrestricted status
- Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience in emergency, urgent care, or telehealth
- BLS certification; ACLS preferred
- Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and make critical decisions
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Strong proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Flexibility to work variable shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
