Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and virtual patient assessments to evaluate symptoms and determine appropriate medical care.
- Document patient interactions accurately and promptly within the electronic health record (EMR) system.
- Provide accurate medical advice, medication refills, and treatment instructions while adhering to scope of practice guidelines.
- Escalate critical cases to physicians or on-call specialists immediately to ensure patient safety.
- Manage patient queues efficiently to minimize wait times and improve patient satisfaction scores.
- Stay current with clinical guidelines, protocols, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan (or willingness to obtain licensure).
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a clinical, emergency, or triage setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and clarity.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and computer systems.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, sound clinical decisions.
