Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and in-person triage assessments to determine patient acuity and appropriate level of care.
- Document patient interactions accurately in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to develop appropriate care plans.
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions to ensure continuity of care.
- Manage incoming calls and inquiries with empathy, prioritizing patient safety and satisfaction.
- Monitor patient trends and escalate critical cases immediately to the on-duty medical provider.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure the triage area is organized and sterile.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of recent experience in a clinical setting, preferably in triage or urgent care.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
