Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols to determine acuity levels
- Provide telehealth triage services for urgent care patients via our digital health platform
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize patient flow and optimize department efficiency
- Document clinical findings accurately in Epic EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Mentor new staff during training rotations to support departmental knowledge transfer
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage accuracy
- Manage communication between patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license with BSN preferred (ADN candidates with 2+ years ER experience considered)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC or ENPC preferred
- Minimum 1 year acute care nursing experience in emergency or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR documentation systems with Epic experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to maintain composure during high-pressure situations
- Excellent verbal communication skills with Spanish fluency highly desirable
- Commitment to completing paid training program within 90 days of hire
