Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize care based on medical urgency using established triage protocols
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients to ensure timely intervention
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) with detailed clinical documentation
- Provide education to patients and families regarding home care instructions and follow-up needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow and resource allocation
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond rapidly to changes in clinical status
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas (TX RN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-stress environments
