Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting, and ambulation.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and report deviations to the nursing staff.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including care plans, progress notes, and incident reports.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and organized.
- Medication Assistance: Assist patients with medications under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered Texas CNA license.
- Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility is preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and assist with patient transfers.
- Reliability: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred.
