Responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs and symptoms throughout the night shift.
- Ensure patient safety by responding promptly to call lights and emergencies.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and sanitized environment to prevent infection and ensure comfort.
- Communicate any changes in a patient's condition to the nursing staff immediately.
- Build rapport with patients and their families to provide emotional support.
Qualifications
- Current and valid New York State CNA license required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and flexible schedules.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed.
