Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and administer medications
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic lab tests
- Schedule appointments and handle administrative tasks efficiently
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and inventory medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- New York State CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Valid New York State Medical Assistant license
