Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient vitals assessment (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and record accurate data in electronic health records (EHR).
- Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment for patient visits, ensuring strict adherence to sterilization protocols.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
- Administer injections, vaccinations, and perform basic EKGs as directed by medical staff.
- Manage front-desk operations including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, and managing patient intake forms.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient flow and high satisfaction scores.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or urgent care setting preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Strong proficiency with EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and confidentiality.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
