About the Role:
As a Part-Time CNA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care. You will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver personalized support and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Patient Assistance: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment, including changing linens and assisting with meal times.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient needs and status changes to the healthcare team and family members.
- Safety: Implement proper body mechanics and safety protocols when transferring or repositioning patients to prevent injury to both the patient and caregiver.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid and current New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license (CNA-1) is mandatory.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks required for patient care.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others.
