Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring accurate registration and insurance verification.
- Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and patient height/weight.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist physicians during patient visits.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens, including blood draws.
- Update and maintain accurate patient medical records and charts.
- Answer phone inquiries and direct calls to appropriate departments.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or CNA is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level roles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients (up to 50 lbs) when necessary.
- Valid state-specific certification or license where applicable.
