Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any abnormalities to the RN or LPN.
- Turn, reposition, and move patients safely to prevent bedsores and ensure patient comfort.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding for patients with special dietary needs.
- Document patient care activities, including intake and output, and changes in patient condition, accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, physicians, and family members regarding patient status.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment in patient rooms and common areas.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license currently active in the state of Missouri.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable transportation and a commitment to punctuality.
