Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and assist patients with eating if necessary.
- Document patient care activities, changes in patient condition, and reactions to medications accurately.
- Ensure the patient environment is clean, safe, and organized.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and physicians regarding patient status.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Illinois.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong compassion, patience, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Willingness to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Pass a background check and drug screening.
