Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, accurately.
- Assist patients with mobility and transferring them safely using proper techniques.
- Communicate any changes in a patient's condition or behavior to the registered nurse or charge nurse immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment and sanitize equipment as required.
- Document daily care activities and patient responses in electronic medical records (EMR) promptly.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed staff within scope of practice.
Qualifications
- Current California State CNA Certification (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and families.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must pass a background check, drug screen, and health clearance.
