Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance.
- Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and report any abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infection and accidents.
- Document patient care activities, observations, and changes in condition accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and needs during the night shift.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of practice (Nebraska or Texas).
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Basic computer literacy for charting and documentation.
- CPR/BLS certification is required.
