Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by nursing staff.
- Ensure Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Document Patient Data: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and patient charts in compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate Effectively: Act as a vital communication link between patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care.
- Assist with Procedures: Support physicians and nurses during examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and positioning.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License: Current and valid CNA license issued by the State of California.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred but not always required for exceptional candidates.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift patients for extended periods with proper body mechanics.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and patient advocacy.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow complex instructions and maintain precise documentation.
