Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Transport patients to and from medical appointments or therapy sessions using wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Prepare and serve meals according to patient dietary requirements.
- Document patient care activities, symptoms, and progress in electronic health records accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patient care.
Qualifications
- Current CNA Certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months (NYS approved programs considered).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with lifting patients (up to 50 lbs).
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred but not mandatory.
- Valid New York State driver's license (optional for facility-based roles).
