Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative and surgical treatments
- Manage patient records using Dentrix/Eaglesoft software with precision
- Sterilize instruments and maintain OSHA-compliant operatory protocols
- Capture diagnostic X-rays and perform chairside assistance
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide monitoring
- Train new staff on infection control and emergency protocols
- Coordinate treatment plans and insurance verification processes
Qualifications
- Current Maryland Dental Assistant certification and radiology license
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Expertise in digital radiography (Dexis/Sidexis) and CAD/CAM workflows
- CPR/BLS certification with current renewal
- Exceptional chairside demeanor and patient communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple procedures simultaneously
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and dental billing protocols
