Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suction, and four-handed dentistry
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital systems
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilization procedures (OSHA compliance)
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and instruments for efficient workflow
- Deliver exceptional patient education on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
- Maintain accurate digital patient records and practice management software
- Coordinate patient flow and assist in scheduling to maximize daily productivity
Qualifications
- Current Ohio Dental Assistant Radiographer certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft or Dentrix practice management software
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
- CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; dental assisting certification preferred
