Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and medical procedures, ensuring comfort and privacy.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during patient visits and minor procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and immunizations as prescribed by the provider.
- Perform and record vital signs, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests accurately.
- Manage patient intake, update medical records in the EHR system, and file insurance claims.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA) required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications (where applicable) required.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
