Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision
- Prepare IV medications and sterile compounds following strict protocols
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise patient medication records
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and regulatory adherence in all pharmacy operations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Pharmacy Technician license required
- PTCB certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Minimum 1 year pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Proficient in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
