Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and health maintenance
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software efficiently
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV preparations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Illinois pharmacy technician license in good standing
