Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceutical supplies
- Assist pharmacists in preparing IV medications and chemotherapy admixtures
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software systems for record-keeping and billing
- Train new pharmacy technicians on standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification in Texas (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year of hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent required
