Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision, ensuring proper labeling and dosage
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility for medications
- Provide exceptional customer service, counseling patients on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain precise records in pharmacy management software and HIPAA-compliant systems
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes
- Assist in sterile compounding and IV preparation when required
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug classifications
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
