Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and pharmaceutical products
- Manage inventory control and order pharmaceutical supplies
- Assist pharmacists in compounding medications and sterile preparations
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and confidentiality
- Provide exceptional patient education and medication counseling
- Adhere to NYS pharmacy regulations and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current NYS Pharmacy Technician license required
- Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medication safety and inventory systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency with pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred
