Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary punctures, and specialized blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate medical records
- Operate automated laboratory equipment and troubleshoot technical issues
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with lab supervisors and healthcare providers
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of specimen handling and processing protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- CPR certification required
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license preferred
