Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies within strict deadlines
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits for comprehensive coverage verification
- Manage denial resolution and appeal processes for rejected claims
- Maintain detailed patient accounts and billing records in EHR systems
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and payers regarding billing inquiries
- Analyze claim data to identify trends and recommend process improvements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with proven claim submission success
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or CPC-A) preferred
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, NextGen, or AdvancedMD)
