Responsibilities
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims with 95%+ accuracy
- Analyze EOBs to identify underpayments and appeal denials
- Ensure compliance with CMS, Medicaid, and private payer regulations
- Collaborate with coding teams for precise CPT/ICD-10 documentation
- Manage patient payment plans and resolve billing inquiries
- Optimize revenue cycle through denial prevention strategies
- Generate monthly reports on KPIs like days in A/R and clean claim rates
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in hospital/physician practice
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credentials required
- Expertise in Epic, Medisoft, or NextGen EHR systems
- Advanced knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Proven track record of reducing AR days by 20%+
- Strong analytical skills for complex claim resolution
- Illinois state healthcare compliance certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claim management software
