Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict aseptic protocols
- Label, process, and transport specimens to the lab with 100% accuracy
- Maintain patient records and electronic documentation in HIPAA-compliant systems
- Calibrate and troubleshoot phlebotomy equipment daily
- Train new staff on collection techniques and safety procedures
- Collaborate with physicians and lab teams to ensure specimen integrity
Qualifications
- Current Florida Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical blood draw experience
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Proficiency in handling difficult veins and pediatric patients
- Exceptional attention to detail and infection control practices
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology preferred
