Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment for upcoming procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after surgeries
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Scrub in for complex specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and general surgery
- Document perioperative activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) required
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in Level I trauma center or specialty OR
- BLS/CPR certification with current AHA provider card
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and OSHA compliance standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR systems preferred
