Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
- Maintain strict adherence to sterilization and infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral photographs.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials prior to patient appointments.
- Manage patient records accurately, including updating charts, collecting co-pays, and processing insurance claims.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and proper oral hygiene practices.
- Assist in administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and answering phone inquiries.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent training.
- Current Louisiana Dental Assistant license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
