Responsibilities
- Provide personalized assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist clients with mobility issues, transferring, and walking using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning based on specific dietary requirements and restrictions.
- Monitor client health status and promptly report any changes, accidents, or medical concerns to the supervising nurse or case manager.
- Administer medication reminders and accurately document care logs in compliance with company policies.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to improve the client's mental well-being and quality of life.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, vacuuming, and dishwashing, to maintain a safe living environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is highly preferred.
- Valid Alaska driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude towards clients.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
