Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by nursing staff.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for patients while adhering to strict infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, reporting changes in patient condition or concerns immediately.
- Assistance: Support patients with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping tasks within the patient's room.
- Documentation: Accurately complete clinical charts, logs, and incident reports in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Current CNA certification from the State of Maryland is preferred for entry-level candidates or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Licensure: Must possess (or be eligible for) a valid Maryland CNA license.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move patients weighing up to 200 lbs, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Soft Skills: Strong empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Background: Pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
