Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
  • Provide basic bedside care and comfort measures to patients in residential care facilities or hospitals.
  • Turn, reposition, and transfer patients to prevent bedsores, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Assist with feeding patients who require help eating and maintaining proper nutrition.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient status and needs.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Illinois Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license (CNA1 or CNA2).
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
