Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide basic medical care and assistance with daily living activities for patients in accordance with their care plans.
- Monitoring: Observe and report changes in patient health status, mood, or behavior to the nursing staff.
- Hygiene: Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure dignity and comfort.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring clear and empathetic communication.
- Documentation: Accurately record vital signs, fluid intake/output, and patient activities in electronic health records.
- Safety: Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to all infection control protocols and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Virginia State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and CPR/BLS certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet patient needs.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods as required by the role.
