Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, ensuring accuracy.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring to and from beds and wheelchairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infection and accidents.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and families regarding patient status and care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required by the state of DC.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not mandatory for qualified candidates.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients when necessary.
