Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including vital signs, to the nursing staff.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility.
- Provide Emotional Support: Offer companionship and empathy to patients and their families during their stay.
- Administer Medications: Assist with medication reminders and documentation as per state regulations.
- Maintain Hygiene: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Document Care: Accurately record patient care activities and any incidents in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with Team: Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Current and valid California State CNA license.
- CPR/BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment as needed.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping others and a patient-centered approach.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
