Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist dentists during examinations, treatments, and surgeries, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
- Patient Care: Greet patients, review medical histories, and educate them on post-operative instructions and oral hygiene practices.
- Diagnostic Support: Take and develop digital X-rays, impressions, and models as directed by the dentist.
- Office Management: Manage inventory, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized treatment room.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments, process insurance claims, and handle billing inquiries accurately.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to assist with medical emergencies in the dental chair following office protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent experience is required.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- Licensure: Washington State Dental Assistant license in good standing.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and digital radiography equipment.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a focus on infection control and sterilization standards.
