Responsibilities
- Patient Hygiene & Support: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, and report any abnormalities.
- Mobility Assistance: Safely transfer and ambulate patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care plans as directed by the nursing staff.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in compliance with hygiene standards.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered New Mexico CNA license required.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a long-term care or acute care setting preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills and a genuine, empathetic demeanor toward patients.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
