Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision
- Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and dosage instructions
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceuticals
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise medication records
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and health maintenance
- Maintain compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and pharmacy board regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of prescription processing and medication safety protocols
- Proficient in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Excellent communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
