Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of prescriptions and patient information to ensure patient safety.
- Prepare and package medications, including compounding and labeling, according to strict protocols.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including reordering stock and conducting regular stock counts.
- Assist patients with medication inquiries, providing accurate information on usage and potential side effects.
- Process insurance claims and verify coverage to minimize out-of-pocket expenses for patients.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications
- Current PTCB or ExCPT certification required.
- Valid New York State Pharmacy Technician license.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and drug interactions.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient-centric care.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy.
