Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and implement infection control protocols
- Count surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment according to OSHA standards
- Transport patients and specimens safely within the surgical department
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C)
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in Level I trauma center
- BLS/CPR certification with current renewal
- Proficiency in endoscopic, robotic, and orthopedic instrumentation
- Knowledge of AORN standards and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and crisis management skills
