Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with proper instrument passing
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce safety protocols
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and sterilization processes
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for patient readiness
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS certification with current ACLS training
- Knowledge of general, orthopedic, and specialty surgical procedures
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique mastery
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
