Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and suturing under supervision
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures
- Count and document all surgical instruments and supplies before, during, and after operations
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning, draping, and applying sterile dressings
- Manage surgical inventory and restock supplies in operating rooms
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process standardization
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care OR setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrument care protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to function as part of a cohesive team
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
